Located just off the coast of Suva, the Nukulau Island is a historical island where an American agent named John Brown Williams carved a place in history because he was responsible for nearly turning Fiji into an American protectorate. The island has now been converted into a beautiful picnic spot. It was a prison island in the 1900s but the prison was shut down in the year 2006. Apart from picnicking, one can also head over to the island for overnight camping.
