Azalea Road Dog Park Reviews & Ratings
This dog park has a large open area, most of the time is has grass. They have filled in some of the problem areas where there is often mud puddles. There is still one area that gets very muddy after several days of rain. Otherwise I love bringing my dog here!
25lbs and under separate park. Dogs appear friendly. Nice to let the little pups loose and run free. Some gravelled areas around benches but mostly grass/weed and no mud/dirt holes that we can see in August.
It's kind of hard to find. There are no signs showing the way. It was also a bit un kept . My Golden Retriever loved it. Me, not so much. There was a hole in the ground that I couldn't see and I stepped into it and fell. It's kind of hard to get up when you're 67 and riddled with arthritis. It's worth checking for yourself.
We took my doodle here as a place to get her energy out before going on a long road trip with her. It had plenty of space for her to run and play with the other dogs. There was a lot of mud, but the locals informed me that most people just take their dogs to the lake to wash the mud off after they play. She loved getting into the lake and it wore her out even more. It was a great experience. Wish we could go back more often. She slept for hours when we got home.
This park has places to sit, abundant shade and water for your dog. It can be pretty muddy after it rains (but that is the case with most of the Asheville dog parks). There's a lake and a river near the park where I will rinse my dog off if he gets muddy.
