The Players Club Of Swarthmore Reviews & Ratings

  • I've seen a fair amount of community theater in my day, most of it excruciatingly painful to sit through. This production of Shakespeare in Hollywood, however, was a sheer delight. The direction was brisk, and the actors' comedic timing was spot-on. And the woman who played Puck (Jennifer Greenfield) brought levels of nuance to the role that I have never seen before.

  • First time we were there. My Granddaughter and I loved it. We are going again soon.

  • Amazing! Its community theater, so they need YOU. Help support the arts. They do great shows. They have wonderful people. You can't go wrong.

  • The Players Club of Swarthmore is easily accessible by car and has plenty of free, off street parking. There are nearby restaurants if you wish to partake in a pre-show meal. The theater is a moderate size that provides an intimate theater experience for the patrons. My wife and I went to see "Guys and Dolls" at the Players Club and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We enjoyed it so much the 1st show, we came back to see it a 2nd time. I have always enjoyed live theater and have seen some great shows in New York and Philadelphia. As compared to these two cities, I was very impressed at the talent level of the performers in this show. I am continuously amazed at the musical talent possessed by so many individuals. I have to wonder what I was doing when musical talent was being distributed. The musicians were great and all of the show tunes were performed at a very high level. The production, staging and choreography were all done well. What more can you be looking to receive for such a low ticket price? I thought it was interesting to see all of the performers helping out in changing scenery on stage and some performers playing multiple roles. I suppose that in a small theater, everybody has to multitask and they did it very well. If you are looking for a night out to enjoy the arts, give the Players Club of Swarthmore an opportunity to fill that need. I believe you will be glad you did, without having to go to New York or Philadelphia. It doesn't get any better than that!

  • Excellent theater company. Lots of great shows!
