This is a heritage building that has been recently refurbished for travelers to visit. Built on the land of the traditional Indigenous owners, the Eora people, this building occupies the site of the First Fleet landing. It is one of the most significant buildings in the history of European settlement in Australia. As you enter this building, you will come across the Customs Square that offers you a segment of Australian history. Paving in the square depicts the original tidal zone as it was at the time of the First Fleet landing. The major refurbishment has transformed all five floors of one of Sydney's finest colonial buildings into a dynamic public facility and meeting space. It includes Customs House Library, housing a collection of over 400,000 items.
