Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Reviews & Ratings
Very beautifully appointed theatre. Went there for a movie. Probably not the best place for movies, more suited for theatre in my opinion. Cafe/bar is pretty slow and takes ages to get something so something to improve on there. Overall ambiance is great and staff are friendly.
This is my favorite place to see a movie in Sydney! No, it doesn’t have recliner couches or food delivery to your seat. What it lacks in those extravagances it makes up for in character and charm! Whether you’re watching a first run movie or a classic film film screening, you’ll get the Wurlitzer organ concert (matinees only I believe) and the gorgeous, classic building. Truly deserves the title of a picture palace. One bit of advice... there are endless ads before a movie starts. Not a bad idea to get there 15 minutes after the posted movie start time. You won’t miss any of the movie.
Great cinema, good prices, excellent theatres and cool movies. They have a strong focus on creating an experience when you go to see a movie. I go out of my way to see movies here rather than going to the chain brand cinemas. I'd suggest using public transport, finding parking is difficult.
My experience? Awesome as always. The Cinema experience should begin with the cinema itself. And this theatre delivers in spades. Style, atmosphere, good service and an all round respect for the art of film. Cremorne Orpheum is a cinema experience as soon as you walk through the door. Leave all your troubles outside and enter the world of make believe and celluloid magic. Built in a time when Hollywood glamour was translated into the architecture. This is the most beautiful cinema in Sydney. Treat yourself and see a film at The Orpheum.
Most unique cinema I have seen in Sydney. Has an electone player before our movie started. The place has a large theatre feel. Ticket prices are a bit steep, and the smell of old popcorn lingers too long in the air, however the atmosphere is very unique in a good way.
