About Sydney Aquarium, Sydney

Sydney Aquarium is a vibrant and extremely popular tourist destination of Sydney. It is situated in the northern frontier of the Pyrmont Bridge. It features continental variations of marine wildlife and innumerable species of fishes and marine vegetation of Australia. It is designed to provide the best display and exhibition of the sea life using clear tunnels made of modified glass.

The major attractions of wildlife are the sharks and a functional replica of the world famous Great Barrier Coral Reef of Australian subcontinent. It primarily is of national distinction because it exhibits the habitation and lifestyle of the platypus of the Southern River Region, and the marine crocodiles and exclusive Barramundis of the Northern aquatic. Most of the fish here are preserved and displayed in the large exhibition hall of the Aquarium, the modern aquariums and floating glass-tunnel oceanariums. There are a few interactive zones as well. • Even though it's old and needs a refresh (which is currently in motion due to finish towards the end of next year) i still very much enjoy visiting this place. Might be biased because it reminds me of being a child. The last tank is one of their best with an assortment of tropical fish and sharks. I can't wait for the new sea turtle exhibit

  • I hadn't been to the aquarium since primary school; not much has been updated infrastructure wise. The the fish were stunning to gaze at Though the new indoor enclosed rafting ride was pretty cool, allowing you to see penguins in a Arctic environment. The kids on the ride loved it! There are alot educational resources around too. It is very pricey though and can be a long wait: to cut your time waiting (school holidays) and cost see if you can buy tickets in advance

  • It doesn't look that big (and it's not) but it's laid out like an IKEA so you'll get your money's worth winding your way through some pretty spectacular ocean life. Surprisingly, the part after the gift shop is my favourite. I can probably sit there for the better part of the day watching the fishes swim by.

  • Exhibits were great and the messages about less plastic were instructive, but was disappointed that the cafe at the exit had specials on coffee in single use cups and bottles of water. Bad end to a great exhibit Sea Life. You could better control this if you believe what you say. We didn't eat at the cafe.

  • I loved this place. The penguins are amazing. I could watch them all day. And the signings are gorgeous. Very educational and very fun.
