Sydney Aquarium - Review

Sydney Aquarium is a vibrant and extremely popular tourist destination of Sydney. It is situated in the northern frontier of the Pyrmont Bridge. It features continental variations of marine wildlife and innumerable species of fishes and marine vegetation of Australia. It is designed to provide the best display and exhibition of the sea life using clear tunnels made of modified glass.

The major attractions of wildlife are the sharks and a functional replica of the world famous Great Barrier Coral Reef of Australian subcontinent. It primarily is of national distinction because it exhibits the habitation and lifestyle of the platypus of the Southern River Region, and the marine crocodiles and exclusive Barramundis of the Northern aquatic. Most of the fish here are preserved and displayed in the large exhibition hall of the Aquarium, the modern aquariums and floating glass-tunnel oceanariums. There are a few interactive zones as well. Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Reviews

  • Beautiful aquarium~ When you enter you get to do some different poses in front of a green screen for photos to buy when you finish. They were very cute and are a fun little add to take back home. I was expecting the place to be quite small as that's how it seemed from the outside. But it took a good 3-4 hours to walk throughout the whole place. I also loved that there were little signs about the different species within each aquarium. Would definitely recommend going~

  • There are many interesting fish, jellyfish, eels and other marine animals here, and they are mostly displayed well. Most of the information screens have information on some, but not all of the animals in each tank. The fish are nice to look at anyway. The touch screens are VERY insensitive and need an upgrade. some don't work at all. Photographs are printed out for everyone before they decide to buy them. This is a huge waste of resources, especially for a facility that is promoting less waste. I think it would be worth buying some display screens so people can find their digital photos, and decide whether they want to pay for printing. The aquarium tunnel was amazing, and the highlight of the aquarium. Overall, this is a great place to go for a day out.

  • There was no line for tickets at all, and it was not crowded. As far as the displays, they had really nice species and all the glass and habitats were very clean and the animals all looked in great health. The walk through tunnels were excellent and we lingered in them for a while. The dugong habitat was right with the rays and sharks so there was a lot to see, and we watched a narrated enrichment session. The keepers and employees were wonderful and friendly. The penguin boat ride was a tad disappointing, but if you have little ones I guess it would be fun. It was very short and we saw the penguins better just walking through the exhibit.

  • It was an amazing choice to go here. It was an incredible place. It was very beautiful. It is difficult to describe this place in words. They had a vast variety of aquatic animals and some were very rare like Platypus. You might have not even heard the name about like Dugong. They had sharks, many of them and turtles, rays

  • Surprisingly bigger than expected, I'd recommend going later afternoon when we did as it wasn't too busy. There's a big range of different sea animals, including sharks, manatees and penguins. Worth a visit to see the shark tank, which you can experience as a diver. We didn't do it, but saw a few people enjoy that experience.
