Sydney Fish Market, Sydney Reviews

  • Pretty tourist heavy. The seafood we had at a place that looked quite popular had been sitting in the window for a while. It was dry and a bit tough. While I would go back. It would need to be very convenient for me. Cannot see myself going out of my way to visit again. However it's worth seeing once if you're getting to know Sydney.

  • Lots of parking space available (with charge). Fresh seafood at excellent quality. U can buy the seafood and cook at home , or have a seafood lunch there. Besides eating raw, some shops provide cooked dishes with crab or lobster as well. Cellar is there so you can get a wine or beer and taste with your seafood.

  • It's a market. With fish. And seafood. You're kinda stuffed if you're after beef but it's called the Pyrmont Fish Market for a reason. Surprisingly, it's got a little shop with one of the best selections of imported cheese I've ever seen. Well worth the effort to get here for the selection of sushi alone. But the sheer range of fresh seafood on offer is great. Fish of all descriptions, squid, octopus, sardines, clams, scallops, prawns, lobster, scampi, cockles, sea urchin...the list goes on!

  • Great location to shop for your fish specialties. Super fresh, mostly catch day sale, different shops, different prices. Not cheap at all, but really good. Also nice for a quick lunch

  • Superbly fresh seafood. Started off with the seared scallops with rice and cheese. Freshly seared using a torch in front of you and probably the best appetizer I've ever had. Then seafood sashimi with Tuna and Salmon. Best Salmon ever! Grilled king prawn was good, but grilled large scallops tasted very fake (like the crab sticks) and not enjoyable. Finished with battered soft shell crab and fried whitebait. On a warm sunny day with a couple of ciders, this is the place to be!!
