The Festival of Santa Lucia also known as Saint Lucy’s day has a solid silver statue of the patron saint, St. Lucia, is carried to Basillica del Sepolcro where it is placed for 8 days. This event takes place on the 13th of December. This festival is an age-old tradition that is followed by Syracuse. If you are theatre lover you should visit the city during the Theatrical Season at the Greek Theatre when stage dramas happen from the months of May to July.
