Calvary Cemetery is Tacoma’s only Catholic cemetery and is spread across an area of 55 acres and was incorporated in the year 1905 in October. Prior to the year 1905, the cemetery was referred to as Rigney Cemetery and was basically built because the Pioneer Catholic Cemetery was quickly filling up. A notable person who has been buried here is a baseball player named Pip Koehler. The cemetery itself is very tranquil and is filled with loads of greenery. By visiting the cemetery, you would be able to pay your last respects to those who are no more and admire the natural beauty of the place.
