Chih Nan Temple is a popular place of worship in Taipei and makes for one of the most well-known Taoist monasteries in the city. It was established in 1882 and is nestled on the slopes of Houshan. Surrounded by historic tales, locals believe that if an unmarried couple visits Chih Nan Temple, they break up eventually. But of course, that has not stopped anyone from going to this beautiful site. As it is located in the mountainous area, it has around 1,200 steps to reach the temple. But, today it is accessible by the gondola as well as a bus network.
