Located in the Banqiao District in the New Taipei City region, this is the mansion that was originally built by famous Lin Ben Yuan family of Taiwan. Built sometime around 1847, this estate is a very popular tourist destination today.
One among the four great gardens of Taiwan, this estate was donated to the government by the owners who subsequently made it open to the public in the early 1980s, sometime around 1982. Although the gardens can be explored by oneself, the interiors of the mansion can only be entered with a tour guide.

This is a local tourist attraction that many foreigners have never visited here, I guaranteed. If you don't like the crowded places, here is a proper place for you. I recommend any architects or building lovers visiting here to see the traditional Chinese architecture which is older than a hundred at once in your life. You can spend time all day here as well as there is a explanation tour for the visitors in Chinese. The best historic site in Taipei. Lastly, the photographers absolutely get the best pictures back home. I recently found that this place is one of the 4 ancient garden in Taiwan. I'm very impressed to be here at once in a life time.
A well restored traditional Chinese building compound and garden, not too far from the MRT station. Strongly recommend to join the hour long guided tour (in Chinese).
The garden was beautiful but some buildings were under reconstruction so I thought the size of the garden that I could see was bit limited. Still, I loved the ambience. It was too hot and humid when I visited the garden. I was soaked in sweat as soon as I got off the taxi. Unless the day is scorching hot, I recommend you visit the garden.
Immerse yourself in ancient Chinese history amidst the busy streets of modern city.
