Established in 1997, this is the first museum in Asia to display a collection of miniatures. The second largest museum in the world in terms of collection, the Miniatures museum of Taipei has a collection over two hundred exhibits.

The exhibits are divided into two main sections. One of them is a doll house exhibit while the other is a box room exhibit. The exhibits are extremely intricately designed and they more often than not revolve around native and contemporary topics and subjects.

  • Speaks for itself. You will see expertly handcrafted miniatures of characters. Note that you should have a certain amount prepared as entrance fee and cameras are not allowed inside. The museum itself is inside a corporate building; you will have to go down to what seems like an underground entrance which sets the mood of the museum.

  • A small museum with small models. It's located on basement floor, so you have to take an elevator down from building entrance. Mainly, the models shown inside are related American culture and fairy tale. They're very detailed crafting on over thousand of tiny pieces. Unfotunately, the museum atmosphere looks dark, old, and dusty.

  • Its a very nice place to visit. The exhibits they have on display is of high quality. The miniatures also have descriptions by the modelers as well giving insight to what they thought and how they made the dioramas. The gift shop contains many supplies for making one's own dioramas but the prices are steep.(this is coming from a guy who knows nothing about making this level of dioramas so take what i just said with a pound of salt) By the way. The museum is located in the basement of the building

  • Worths the money! Love all the miniature there! Good for family to spend 1-2 hours there. Easy to reach. I went there by taxi though.

  • MUST VISIT!!! We spent a whole hour here looking at all the detailed miniature rooms. We didn't even think a miniature museum could be this fun! The details are marvelous. It was our first timw in a miniature museum, and we loved it. I don't know why it's not in every Taipei what to do guide.
