Nostalgia grips you as you visit Shengxing railway station, the Japanese era structure surrounded by greenery and mountains. The now discontinued station will amuse you with its beautiful wooden structure, without a single nail on the beams and the small tunnel on the track, which you can explore to soak in the beauty of the place. The Tung flower blossoms and the fireflies will greet you if you visit during the month of April and May. You can buy souvenirs like tea, pottery, and other interesting things and you can have something to eat from the Hakka restaurants that are lined up on the old sanyi street just at the entrance of the Shengxing Railway station.

Shengxing Railway Station Reviews & Ratings

  • Old style station in the mountain line of the east coast of Taiwan. You can walk along the train tracks. Several shops, restaurants and coffee shops can be found here. It could be difficult to get here if there are many visitors as the place can not accommodate as many cars. Worth a visit just to get the feel of the old times.

  • Free entrance An old train station now turn to be a ideal place for outing with the friends and family Our visit was on Thursday but we saw many local and overseas tourist, good place for photo shooting Parking on weekdays are NT$50 per parking it is reasonable as the location just a short walk This is not suitable for wheelchairs and elderly, many steps The rail bike is popular ($220 per ride) and welcomed by the tourists, adults or kids Worth to sit down to have a coffee and enjoy the very greenly atmosphere There are restaurant available for lunch

  • A unique attraction, great for those who are fascinated by trains. Kind of a hassle that tickets can only be purchased via its official website, so one has to really plan a trip well. Also, those with medical or mental conditions are not allowed to ride, as the train goes up and down hills and passes through a tunnel. The Old street nearby is also a wonderful attraction. Overall, a place for great photography.

  • Excellent place for kids. Try to train ride. Have to book in advance

  • This is going to be a popular tourist attraction. It just recently opened and still some development going on, so experience it while it's still fresh. There's the rail bike which is quite unique. Four people to a bike. Must book weeks in advance online. There's tourist buses coming at every available time. It's quite beautiful, and lots of stores and food nearby as well. Definitely worth a visit. NOTE: This place doesn't seem very accessible for those who may have a disability.
