Taipei Fine Arts Museum - Review
Established in 1983, this museum dedicated to the local fine arts is a staple in the tours of nearly all first-timers in Taipei. The first museum in Taiwan built specifically for hosting exhibitions of contemporary and modern art, this museum is also important for promoting local artists.
Built on the former site of the United States Taiwan Defense Command, the architecture of this building is a local rendition of structures constructed during the Metabolist Movement which originated in Japan.

Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Taipei Reviews
Nice museum, a good place for those willing to learn more about Taiwan and his history. Allow couple of hours to get to know more about the Formosa island!
Tho the building was closed at the time I visited due to renovation, the staff are warm and accomodating. Further, they gave me a copy of thier activities for the coming months plus a book about Fine Arts Museum which gave me an overview of what to see inside.
An uneven experiece: hit or miss. This museum changes its exhibits frequently, with varying results: from very entertaining to hopelessly pretentious - but for only 30 NT, you shouldn’t complain. In typical Taiwanese museum tradition, this place is cheap to enter, staffed by friendly people but very self-involved and local, with little regard for the user experience. Expect your long walk from the subway station to be rewarded with a museum that is closed for months for renovations. Check the website for opening dates; they don’t maintain their google map info.
This is very spacious, and they also have excellent exhibition. Their location is so accessible, and it is so convenient to go there. The spacious space is the main reason for me to go there, and I enjoy almost every time.
The museum is closed from October 2017 to late summer 2018. Check the website before you go.
