Zoo Taiping, Taiping Reviews
The biggest zoo on the Malaysian northern region. Great place to bring kids to learn something new. Suggest to stroll by foot along the pathways instead of taking the provided train. You will appreciate the moments more. Just make sure to bring along umbrella or hat because it's quite hot here.
The trains inside are free, but need to wait in queue. E-buggies are available at a cost. Commentaries are usually in Malay. If you manage to get a E-buggy Indian driver, then he will comment in English & Tamil. The zoo is big, animals are well taken care of. Night safari is not comparable to SG zoo. Moreover, people often use flash photography in the night spoiling the ambience & experience. Beware of mosquitoes. Parking is limited near to the zoo. One has to park a little bit further away & walk to the zoo ground.
It’s a good zoo that has a couple unique characteristic. First, most of their animals come from this part of the world, or regions with similar climates, which makes sense. The next is the layout of the zoo feels very natural and open, closer to the animals’ natural habitat, which is refreshing.
Visit during school holiday and less crowded than I imagine. They have different price for local as well as senior citizen. I strongly recommend to walk around and take your time to snap good picture. You might hope up to the train they provided if you lazy to walk or too tired to walk. Good place to spend with your family especially with younger children.
Managed way better than the other public zoo in the country. Our 1st visit here n reached there early a.m. Notice some rundown empty cages. It's an eyesore, at least keep it clean. Entrance fee was reasonable. Some animal looks distressed like the rhino 🦏. Tiger and panther both sleeping probably they had heavy breakfast, the rest looks happy and healthy. Toilet cleanliness n fixtures can be improved. Overall we just love the setting that truly blend w the nature this includes some birds and monkey roaming freely during our strolls 💗💗💗
