  • I just loved learning about the “Rodin of Japan” Fumio Asakura! What a wonderful artist! We had a pleasant time visiting the museum! It’s a beautiful and peaceful sanctuary full of life and grace built by the great artist! Deeply grateful for visiting it :-D

  • Asakura demonstrated his mastery of the 3D form by tackling what must be the hardest subject, that of the domestic cat. No other sculptor in the history of humanity has shown such skill, with most not even attempting to climb this highest peak of the sculptural arts. Not only did Asakura make it to the top, he did it in brass, and with the ringing endorsement of his chosen subjects. Totally unmissable.

  • I fell in love with this museum. Not just for the sculptures, but also for the atmosphere of the place. It closes rather early (4:30, last admission at 4) but really deserves a visit if you are nearby. The area around is just as much lovely.

  • Very well done museum, fairly compact but not something you just race through. A great blend of actual sculpture and architecture, being held in Asakura's home and studio - wandering around the halls and rooms where he lived was wonderful; especially the library and inner garden. The people working there had very good English and were very happy to talk for ages about him and his art, and a very affordable price makes this something worth checking out

  • A really amazing place to visit. The details of the house and studio make it fun to explore. However, there is a strict route you must follow and no photos are allowed except from the rooftop garden. Also in a unique part of the city.
