The Okuhida Bear's Park is home to a number of Asian black bears. Interacting with the bears as you feed them or to simply see them in their own world, is a rare chance to see these animals up close. The unusual gestures of the bears really get you off guard and is quiet fun to see as they find their own ways of interacting with you.
If you are an animal lover, you will love to spend some time here.

There are a lot of bears in the park. Since there is very little English signages or guide material physically or online, I'm not sure if this is a sanctuary type of facility or a bear breeding place for exhibition purposes, so I have reservation about it after visiting it. The younger bears in the larger common enclosure seem to be comfortable, but there are very limited shades and the bears are mostly exposed to the sun directly throughout the long summer hot days. The individual enclosures for certain bears also seem very restrictive to the animals. Overall, interesting to see the bears in person, but if you are more conscious about animal rights like I am, this is not a place that gives you a good feeling after visiting it.
A horrible life for these poor bears. This should be illegal. Our first visit to Japan and so very disappointed by the way animals are displayed in this country. Everything so beautiful and then there is this terrible place.
Small scale bear park that is a good stop over. There are bears of various age groups which visitors can feed.
I wish I had read the google reviews. This place is horrible and cruel.
Horrible horrible place that keeps bears in concrete pens that look like they were made in the 50s. Bears are forced to perform acts for the crowds of Japanese tourists who have no clue how bad this place is. Avoid it. Don’t support it.
