One of the most gorgeous modern spaces in Tallinn, the Rotermann Quarter is popular for its old buildings that are put to modern uses. Prior to the the 19th century, the quarters were filled with factories, mills and stores. Today, the buildings are refurbished to have multiplexes, a plaza and cultural centers.

The former building of Rotermann Salt Store that currently accommodates the Estonian Architecture Museum, is one of the popular attractions in the quarter.

  • Great getaway from the Old Town After a couple of days, you get tired of walking around the Tallinn Old Town, especially if you are not into museums. So I would highly recommend a visit to this area and spend time to walk around, enjoy the great coffee places, restaurants and shops. It is very interesting to see how they developed old structures into new ones and how they incorporated new architecture on top of the old one. Very interesting area to visit. We actually went back a couple of times.

  • Please like my review if helpful 👍 A visually and architecturally interesting quarter in Tallinn. A mixture of stunning, totally new buildings of individual design and old buildings renovated, incorporated and melded into modern structures to great effect. The buildings are now a mixture of offices, private dwellings, eateries and shops. Also artisan bakery and cheese shop.

  • The old industrial area of the Rotermanns mixes with modern architecture to create this wonderful part of Tallinn

  • Beautiful architecture, very nice shops and restaurants around. All this at the center of the city.

  • Modern offices and stores.
