Viru Gate - Review
Originally part of a fort wall with watch towers on either side, over time the wall was demolished to connect the city’s Old Market with Kadriorg. The towers still remain along with parts of the Musumagi bastion. The whole wall dates back to the medieval age and still preserves it original architecture and charm.
The nearby Viru street is a bustling center filled with shops and cafes where you can try local food and shop for local goods.

Viru Gate, Tallinn Reviews
This is the best place to visit in Tallinn. The ancient architecture is the key attraction here. They have buildings that were constructed during the world War II. They have a very old tower, from top of which you can see the entire city. A nice place to visit if you get a chance to travel to Tallinn.
This is one of the best place i visited in Tallinn. The houses built in Russian architecture. We traveled by cruise to visit this place from Finland. Cruise is also one of the best experience one should have in life time. I recommend this place whom interested in old architectures.
I only got to spend a day and a half touring the square but it was absolutely beautiful. We went to that one medieval themed restaurant and the service and atmosphere was great! So much to see, for a Canadian girl the details and history were overwhelming.
Real nice entrance to the lower town of Tallinn, also nice because of all the flowershops in front of the gate
Only a ferry ride across the gulf of Finland (2 hrs from Helsinki). Wow! what a beautiful old city. Small enough to walk around in one day. Estonians are so friendly and kind. Even if they can't speak English, they are so genuinely interested in you (even when you don't buy anything), although we did buy quite a few things. The food was good too. We'd like to visit again.
