Viru Gate - Review
Originally part of a fort wall with watch towers on either side, over time the wall was demolished to connect the city’s Old Market with Kadriorg. The towers still remain along with parts of the Musumagi bastion. The whole wall dates back to the medieval age and still preserves it original architecture and charm.
The nearby Viru street is a bustling center filled with shops and cafes where you can try local food and shop for local goods.

Viru Gate, Tallinn Reviews
Entrance to the old town. Original city gate towers from medieval ages. Roofs are renovated few years back. And the road tiles are freshened up last year. Historic place to see and take pictures. Walk through and feel the "city air make you free", an old estonian saying, when a slave got to escape from a farm and managed to enter the gates, they become city people and therefore free. Sometimes there are street musicians performing nearby.
Nice place. I liked being there. Full of life and nice to see people on the street. Safe area.
Definitely this is one of the places you must visit if you're in Tallinn. The Viru Gate, built in the 14 century was the first defence of Tallinn. Nowadays is a busy street full of souvenirs stores and restaurants. I highly recommend to take a look in the indeped sellers inside the walls they have very good prices in wool clothes
This is the best place to visit in Tallinn. The ancient architecture is the key attraction here. They have buildings that were constructed during the world War II. They have a very old tower, from top of which you can see the entire city. A nice place to visit if you get a chance to travel to Tallinn.
Amazingly beautiful. Coloured houses. Flower shops. Historical scenery
