Monkey Beach - Review

Accessible by boat and on foot, Monkey Beach has grown popular amongst tourists. This crescent shoreline is overlooked by majestic mountains, while the fresh waters offer a brilliant site. Ample shade to cool down during the summers, you can have a great time here exploring the diverse flora and fauna. While monkeys are resident here, you may also get to spot monitor lizards and different types of insects. The boat provides a leisure ride to and from this coastline, but the best way to experience the vibe of this natural retreat is to hike up the mountain. The terrain is not difficult, and the view from the top is mesmerizing to say the least. The monkeys are friendly as long as we respect them and their space. Have a unique experience here!

Monkey Beach, Tanjung Bungah Reviews

  • When you go entrance, people say that the path closed because of land sliding. It is not true, you can go there by walk. Beach, nature and sea were perfect, really peaceful place. Highly recommended.

  • We have decided to trek to the beach through the national park, they did mention that the pathway was closed but we have not seen any blocked routes. The beach was lovely, we went on a weekday and it was fairly empty we haven't see monkeys. I would recommend trekking through the park as you will pass empty beaches with great view, the trek is about 1hr 30 min with small breaks and photo shoots.

  • A wonderful place to relax, swim, walk and enjoy. It is one of the few beaches where plenty of shady places are available. It is located on the edge of national park - a great place for hiking. If you want to stay here at night, campus are available on rent. You can reach the beach either by walking from National Park main entry or by boating. Just 10RM will take u there.

  • Perfect weekend getaway for local Penangites. Usually a bit crowded but on some weekends can be empty and peaceful. Try to bargain with the water rides. The charge is quite high.

  • One of the best getaways in Penang. Loved the white sand and shallow waters here. The food options are not great around here unless you prebook.
