Monkey Beach - Review
Accessible by boat and on foot, Monkey Beach has grown popular amongst tourists. This crescent shoreline is overlooked by majestic mountains, while the fresh waters offer a brilliant site. Ample shade to cool down during the summers, you can have a great time here exploring the diverse flora and fauna. While monkeys are resident here, you may also get to spot monitor lizards and different types of insects. The boat provides a leisure ride to and from this coastline, but the best way to experience the vibe of this natural retreat is to hike up the mountain. The terrain is not difficult, and the view from the top is mesmerizing to say the least. The monkeys are friendly as long as we respect them and their space. Have a unique experience here!

Monkey Beach, Tanjung Bungah Reviews
Wish I would have had longer, I chilled out after a long day. Hung around in a hammock watched the world go by. It was very relaxing and tranquil. Would recommend the walk through the rain forest to turtle sanctuary, then the boat ride to monkey beach. I will say I didn't see any monkeys at this beach, but I did near the conservation beach. Wonderful area for anyone visiting Penang.
We got there by a ferry near the National park entrance but I believe you can hike there as well. Get there early as it gets busier towards midday. There are a lot of monkeys lurking in the trees so beware of your belongings. The beach is not the white sandy beaches and more greyish. There are food and drinks outlets there and very basic toilets.
One of the more popular beaches in the area. The path to there was closed when we went, so we got there by boat after hiking to the slightly more remote Turtle Beach. Monkey Beach has lots of food and drink stands, make sure to bring cash if you want to relax at the beach with food and a beer. There's also a few jetskis for rent, and some ropes hanging from trees to swing around. You're also allowed to swim in the water (unlike Turtle Beach), even though the jellyfish warnings were still up. My group chose not to risk it, but there were a few folks out for a splash.
Honeymoon destination! We went here on our honeymoon & had a half day tour complete with beach barbecue (a modest one). There's a path you can trek on for a bit while you wait for the food to be ready. But the star attraction is the pair of local monkeys that you can feed. They're friendly but cheeky so keep all your small belongings under tight watch as they're fast critters who are smart & nimble enough to open back-packs! Luckily mine was the anti-theft kind so it was nice to watch the little guy fiddle with the zipper in befuddlement lol! Ladies take your ear rings off & keep them in your bag - unless they're hard to come undone as these monkeys will have a crack at anything shiny! They're kept on a leash so don't fret if they get a hold of something ... plus their caretaker is always close at hand.
Less crowded compare to other beaches that is accessible by roads. Have all the basic amenities.. Including few small chalets and camping ground. Stall here sells beverages and food.. Not many varieties but is OK.. Other things have are ATV, water scooter, horse ridding. Suitable for family picnics. Also is the nearest from Perhutanan Jeti. Sea water clean. Beach kept quite clean. Boatman was helpful and friendly same as the many stall owners. Would definitely come back perhaps to camp for a night with family.
