Steeple Grange Light Railway Reviews & Ratings
Cracking! Cheap and cheerful, run by enthusiastic volunteers. These guys have even built their own traverser behind the engine shed. Currently extending and improving. Great little railway.
Such an interesting place. Take a trip on both lines. The staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt some interesting facts about the local area, even though we grew up there. The quarry is fascinating and Robin would have talked all day given the chance. Combine this with the stone centre for a fantastic afternoon out.
Little railway with a very interesting past. Two train rides, one about a kilometre, the other much shorter but with a talk and demonstration about the history of the local area focusing around 350 million years ago..! Strongly recommended for budding geologists as the talk was both interesting and informative.
We visited here during the winter close down period but fortunately for us it was on a day when there was a volunteer working party on site. The volunteers were very friendly and absolutely fantastic with our Grandson who is mad on trains. We will definitely be going back when they are open again. Thanks very much for the time and effort that you spent with Stan. We missed the Yellow engine coming back and he's not likely to let me forget it!
Nice narrow gauge railway. Usually open on Sunday afternoons
