Located in Taos County, New Mexico, and slightly north of Taos, Taos Pueblo is a CDP or Census-Designated Place. As of the 2000 census, the place featured a total population of around 1,200. Based on the data gathered by the United States Census Bureau, the CDP spreads across 15.6 square miles with no water bodies. According to UNESCO and the National Historic Landmark, Taos Pueblo is the only remaining living Native American community that has been awarded a World Heritage Site.
