Interesting, great guide. For a town we a museum, this is a next best
Can highly recommend you make time to visit The Elms and take a guided tour of the cleverly curated "The Rooms" exhibition. The relatively plain title belies what is in effect a fascinating fusion of historical record and contemporary artistic interpretation. Get up close and personal with artefacts usually roped off to the public, or regretfully out of the public eye altogether, in archive storage. To the nine NZ artists - THANK YOU for sharing your insight and artistic skill; to my delightfully knowledgeable guide Phillipa - I lucked in with you and my one-on-one rainy day tour; and finally, kudos to the Elms Foundation and the Tauranga Art Gallery for bravely venturing down a path no other historic NZ venue has explored to date. 'The Rooms' exhibition is open until October 24th 2018. R.
This is the oldest mission house in NZ. Well worth a visit. A guided tour is only $20. The guide is very knowledgable.
What an interesting place to visit for history of the area😁
