Dating back to the 4th century, the Narikala Fortress portrays the ancient defense lines of Tbilisi. The original fortress was extended in the 7th and 8th by Arabs and in 11th century by King David and even today, the wall stands tall forming the boundary of the historic center of Tbilisi.
The Narikala Tourist route is the most preferred way to see the fortress with a trail that covers 1500 meters and offers a striking view of the whole city. The sight is breathtaking after sunset!
