The Tasman Glacier Viewpoint is part of the Blue Lakes Trek that starts at the end of the Tasman Valley Road The Blue Lakes trek is a relatively short, 15 minute trek that ascends rather quickly to an elevated position where you can view a series of three small lakes. The Glacier Viewpoint is another 5 minutes past the Blue Lakes. From here you have excellent views of the Tasman Lake as well as the glacier in the distance. This is neat place to find and visit, especially if weather conditions are favourable.
Awesome place to visit.. short hike pretty stiff though. Better take big bottle of water..
Even just the drive up there is already amazing, wanted to stop all the time. Nice big parking lot with toilets. Walked first to the 'blue' lakes and than further up to the Tasman Glacier lookout. There are a lot of steps so it it nice to stop here and there and take some photos (and have a bit of a rest haha). Absolutely beautiful surroundings, blue lakes were nice, Tasman Glaciers absolutely stunning!
Relatively short walk that's well paved but mostly stairs up to the view point. Will take roughly 15-20 mins to walk up. Nice views of the lake at the top. Good wet weather day activity as you can still see the sights without being in the rain for too long.
Loads of steps and a donation box at the top so do take a gold coin or two. Great view but need to be able to climb steps.
