  • Cool place to grab some grub after a long drive. Waitress was nice and attentive and the food was pretty good. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was just OK, but my wife had the tacos and they were excellent. The place has a good collection of locals, tourists, old and young people, hippies, etc.., so I think just about anyone would feel comfortable here. If it's you're first trip to Terlingua and you aren't sure about things, definitely stop in here first.

  • This place is amazing. Unique and delicious, my husband and I loved the atmosphere. We came to visit big Bend and walked away saying that this was one of the highlights of our visit. I got the chili and he got a burger. Both were amazing. The guac was great and my husband loved the salsa- but it is pretty spicy (too spicy for me) so be wary of you have a low tolerance. Go here if you can! The live music was incredible. We're from Austin and thought the band was better than most here.

  • My husband and I shared the mixed grill (for a small fee). It came with extra sides, and the kitchen painstakingly split a steak, a quail, and some very tasty sausages between our two plates. It was delicious and more than enough for two. Between us we sampled four of the margarita offerings. I liked the prickly pear one, but if you like spicy, there's one that comes with jalapena, which my husband tried, and it is very tasty. As for ambience, the doors open at 5:00, and by 6:00 the place was nearly full of a mixture of locals and tourists. A band played some nice, not too loud, original (I think) music during which you could still carry on a conversation. The only improvement we could have wished for is that the band could have used better sound mixing. The lead singer was hard to hear and understand, although all seemed to be quite capable musicians who enjoyed playing together.

  • Very unique dining experience. Staff was a little stiff and not very friendly... Just very matter of fact, " here's your menu, what's your order, here's your food.... Are you done yet?" The location is very cool, staff... Not so much... Food was good. Entertainment was a couple who seemed to be from San Francisco or maybe LA. They could have been a skit from Saturday Night Live, they just didn't realize it... But the area is very different.... It's worth it, just to say you've been there....

  • We came here two nights in a row. You're sat pretty quickly which is nice, if you're only two. It's lively, with the music and the stage, which is really cool considering your in the middle of nowhere. The food was...eh. Some things I thought were awesome, like pineapple vinegrette. Others, were downright disgusting. I got the steak, mushrooms & mashed potatoes and the only edible thing on that plate was the mashed potatoes. I'd say if you want to go somewhere for a beer, go here. If you want good food, stay away. Also - the chili was not note worthy at all.
