Cove Cafe, Terrigal Reviews
Took an elderly gentleman there today. Staff were so very respectful. Especially appreciated the interaction of one young staff member. She made our day, Experienced Customer service to a higher level.
A pleasant surprise right on my doorstep at Terrigal. Fresh local seafood with a creative twist and a very modest price range - served efficiently from a oceanfront verandah overlooking the beautiful 'Haven Beach'. The service staff were courteous, polite and fairly efficient. We were there for a busy winter lunch. Some heaters were on the deck to take away some of the winter chill. The meals arrived in a timely fashion and were expertly prepared, seasoned and presented. Sampling the food from my fellow diner's dishes and I can attest to their matched flavor. The pricing seems quite reasonable for the location. I can certainly recommend the Cove Cafe and we are already planning to return.
Went for lunch today on a windy day. Table was covered in sand and my coffee and lunch were both ruined by the sand. They had awnings but they weren’t pulled down to protect the customers and their food. I also found a hair in my fish and so gritty or not, I couldn’t eat anymore. The service team didn’t once apologise for the sand or notice I had not eaten my lunch or drink more than a few sips of my coffee. Suggest they put drinks in takeaway cups with lids and pull down the awnings along the side on windy days in future.
Not impressed. Booked for 12.45 for a Hens High Tea. Food took an hour to come out and was bland, dry scones, soggy sandwiches, old fruit. Asked for skim milk - didn’t get it. Limitless tea - of course because if you don’t come back and serve us we only get one!! Cocktail high tea but you can’t choose a cocktail you just automatically get an Espresso Martini. Why put them all in the menu then? Finally after 2 hours got a chai latte. At least it’s hot.
Nice views......too bad you need to ask the staff to clear your plates, to take your coffee order after lunch and then get the wrong coffees sent to you. Not great service unfortunately even though the staff are friendly. Make sure you have plenty of time when you come here as you will need to wait!
