The Dalles Tourism

The Dalles /ˈdælz/ is the county seat and largest city of Wasco County, Oregon, United States. The population was 13,620 at the 2010 census, and is the largest city on the Oregon side of the Columbia River outside of the Portland Metropolitan area.

The Dalles is a city known for its trading activities. The oldest museum in Oregon state, the Fort Dalles Museum, in in The Dalles. It provides glimpses of the life in the state from its original to the recent inhabitants. Most of the exhibits are from the previous centuries. They include the interior setups of colonial houses and even carriages and automobiles. Outdoor activities like fishing, swimming, cliff jumping, boating etc. can be done in and around the city. You can get closer to nature at the Columbia Hills State Park. The Dalles also hosts a Northwest Cherry Festival in April every year. Another spectacle near the city is The Dalles Dam which generates a substantial amount of electricity. The dam is open for tours. Tour the city of The Dalles for an interesting experience.
