Mullaperiyar Dam is on periyar river. It is located at the hieght of 881 meters above sea level. It was constructed between 1887 and 1895 by John Pennycuick so that the water can be diverted to the Madras Presidency area. Its height is around 53.6 meter and length is 365.7 meter.
