The Museum of Byzantine Culture is a wonderful tribute to the Byzantine Era in Greece’s history. The ancient Greek and the modern Christian come together in the Byzantine tradition which is absolutely fascinating to see.
The museum showcases the period of history with the aid of over 2000 rare and lovely artefacts. These have been painstakingly collectedand form a part of the giant permanent collection. There are several temporary exhibitions in the place as well. The exhibits are certainly lovely to look at but what makes them amazing are the way they depict the history behind it. If you want to discover Greece’s past, this museum is a must visit.

Museum Of Byzantine Culture, Thessaloniki Reviews - Write a Review
This is a good museum to get a basic overview of byzintine culture. What I lived what the special exhibit on St. Sava when I was there.
Mandatory in Thessaloniki. Excellent museum very well organized, full of interesting things and facts about Byzantium culture and history.
This is probably the best thematical museum about the Byzantine culture and history. The artefacts are genuine; no replicas. The building has a magnificient architecture; even if it were empty one could stroll through the passages and rooms to admire its beauty. Dim lighting and well balanced exponat intensity make an unforgettable museum experience. Strongly advisable; not visiting it will be a real miss.
Spacious building with astounding architecture. Most exhibits are open with no glass panes and they are great. Artifacts like jewelery, everyday objects and fragments of buildings are beautiful and well preserved. The tickets are expensive (compared to Rotonda for example) but it's definitely worth it. You should come at least 2 hours before it's closing if you want to have enough time to look at everything. The only complaint I have is the bathroom quality. It was dirty and the toilet seat was missing.
Very good place to get informations about the byzantine time in and around Thessaloniki. No glasses in front of the most exhibitions. I don't have to say, that you aren't allowed to touch anything! But be careful of you take a closer look. There are light barriers you don't see... My shame that I get trapped not even once :)
