The Arch Of Galerius - Review
The Arch of Galerius is an ancient historical site from the time of King Galerius who was a noted if violent monarch of the region. The arch stands rather alone in a crowded area in the city center but it adds to its beauty.
The old arch is a ruin and a part of an ancient city that had a glorious part. Today it has become the center of the social life in Thessaloniki. The place is a very popular place to meet and the charming cafes and restaurants as well as markets in the area ensure that there is plenty to do around this historical monument.
As a result the arch is an important place on the tourism scene. The carving and architecture is worth admiring and the atmosphere is worth taking in.

The Arch Of Galerius, Thessaloniki Reviews
Not quite the same as Constantine's Arch in Rome, but still a very impressive sight. Since it is in the heart of the old city, you'll inevitably see it sooner or later.
An iconic and one of the most well known symbols of the city of Thessaloniki, and the most popular spot if you have to meet someone. You can always see people under the arch, waiting for some one!!!!!!!
Impressive monument. Beware the usual swindlers that you find in big cities
Great to see something that old but still in very good condition. Must see.
A beautiful triumphal arch from the 4th century A.D. , which remains are well preserved. The arch used to have four main pillars and four secondary pillars (two in the North side and two in the South), instead of two of the main pillars and one of the secondaries we have today. So multiple arches that connected the Rotonda, the via Egnatia and the palace of Galerius. Unfortunately there isn't much information on the arch itself on location except for a small line on the information sign on the side of the Rotonda saying: "... It is a circular domed building that was connected with the partial complex though a monumental road, part of which is Galerius triumphal arch. ..."
