The Archaeological Museum - Review
The Archeological Museum of Thessaloniki is a treasure trove or artefacts and an ode to the Macedonian Legacy of the area. You will be able to see an astonishing number of incredibly beautiful pieces of art and art objects as well as other articles from the ancient times.
The beautiful pottery, the stunning mosaics and the lovely paintings of the era have been displayed in the museum. You will also find a number of sculptures, and metal work objects that are worth a see. The best part about the museum is the collection of miniatures. The whole place is a fascinating collection of treasures from the past and hence a definite must see in Thessaloniki.

The Archaeological Museum, Thessaloniki Reviews
The museum is beautiful and rich in exponents and is a must visit if you are even slightly interested in Macedonian history. You can buy a combined ticket for other museums as well and it would be an amazingly spent day. There is a lot of personnel in the museum and as I was with children, they kept an eye on us as we are going to break something, so I suggest not going with little kids. You will have to carry them or keep them really close, because they can touch some of the exponents and of course it is not allowed.
Was a nice visit because there was hardly anyone visiting with us so we could take our time. Interesting exhibits and a great history overall. Although the museum is poorly layed out and has some oddities with displaying artifacts, it was a nice visit. €8 for non-student and €4 for student with ID.
A terrific museum that has plenty of artifacts with both Greek and English explanations. You can easily spend hours and hours here. Right now they have a temporary hold exhibition which was ‘gold’ theme. They even offer a free outdoor exhibition.
The items displayed are so unique that rating it lower than 5 stars would be a scam. For those who are interested in classical history a must not to be missed..
