The Napier Museum building is just as interesting as the exhibits showcased inside. The beautiful 19th century architecture of the building with gothic elements and natural air-conditioning technique makes it a famous landmark in Trivandrum.
The exhibits showcase a rare collection of archaeological artifacts including ancient bronze idols, ornaments, carved Ivory art pieces and a temple chariot.
The museum also hosts Japanese Shadow plays of Mahabharata and Ramayana.
The Napier Museum is perfect if you want to experience a part of India’s vast history.

Napier Museum, Trivandrum Reviews - Write a Review
A very popular place specially with tourist and is usually busy in the evening with a steady flow of people who come to jog there. The museum is interesting with old relics from kings, there's also the zoo which is one of the best maintained zoo I've ever seen. You have restaurants near the zoo entrances that service food and drinks. I occasionally go there for an occasional stroll with friends . Good place to hang out and talk.
Great place for a full day. It has many things to see including zoo and a great snake collection which has anaconda. There is also good collection of antiques of ancient kings. It is closed on Mondays for visiting zoo and museums although you can sit and enjoy park and greenery with tress everyday.
The exhibits are displayed in a creative manner. Napier Museum opens the door to the ancient history of the state and relics of kings that ruled the state. The chariots, rapier and the other paraphernalia of the rulers of yesteryears is a witness to the rich and cultural heritage of the state of Kerala. The perspective of the museum with pitched roof is typifies the architecture of Kerala. A place that should not be overlooked on a visit to Kerala.
Its a great place to visit if you want to spend a full day. You can look at the museum and then you can visit the zoo which is nearby at a walkable distance, which has variety of animals and birds. The museum has an entry ticket which is mandatory. The area around the museum is well maintained.
Napier museum is the best public place for relaxation in trivandrum. All the days will be open expect Monday. All type of people (age, sex, income group) can be sit in this place for discussion, relaxation and share joyful moments of life.
