Napier Museum - Review
The Napier Museum building is just as interesting as the exhibits showcased inside. The beautiful 19th century architecture of the building with gothic elements and natural air-conditioning technique makes it a famous landmark in Trivandrum.
The exhibits showcase a rare collection of archaeological artifacts including ancient bronze idols, ornaments, carved Ivory art pieces and a temple chariot.
The museum also hosts Japanese Shadow plays of Mahabharata and Ramayana.
The Napier Museum is perfect if you want to experience a part of India’s vast history.

Napier Museum, Trivandrum Reviews
The best place to hangout at evening and morning. The garden and the museum compounds are best for jogging and as hangout spots. The visitors time inside is from 9:00 to 5:00. The museum have a good collection of historical items. The items displayed here will provide us very detailed account of Indian history and culture. The Buddhists statutes will give us very detailed knowledge about the ancient Buddhist temples which were later distroyed for creating Hindu temples. But poorly maintained by government. The entry have fees.
Visited here with a private tour guide. When you buy your ticket make sure you keep hold of it as it gets you into another venue. Not much description of the artifacts however found out after that there is an app you can download with great descriptions, the museum should promote this app. Shame you can't take photos. You can spend about 30- 60 minutes here before going onto other attractions (zoo, art gallery)
We visited the Zoo here. You can spend some quality time here. You will never know this place exist in the middle of the city. From the entrance you can see a lot of trees and wild life. This zoo had a decent variety of bird species. Be prepared to carry water as the walk is going to be a long one. One of the best attractions here is the hippos and Rhinos. You can some comfy chairs out there to sit and watch as well. Tigers and lions are at the end of walk way and once after you come out of there you can view the snake habitat. I have to tell yha lookout for those big anaconda . kind of scary! Overall a good experience if you come with kids!
I loved the museum. So much history and ancient artifacts to see and learn about. They do not allow pictures inside and there is no documents that you can take with you that describes what is inside. It would be nice to have that to share the experience with others. Good museum overall.
Very good place to visit for tourists. Must visit if you are in Trivandrum. Brass idols are most beautiful. You can glare in to history of southern India. It is maintained but need improvement. I loved visiting this place.
