Thrissur Zoo is a state run animal zoo that opened in the year 1885 in the heart of Thrissur City, Kerala, India. Spread over 13.5-acres of land, this zoo is home to many animals including tigers, lions, deer, sloth bears, monkeys, hippopotamus, camels, cobras, kraits, vipers, rat snakes, pink flamingos, mithun of the north-eastern hills, and lion-tailed macaques. Open from 10:00 AM till 5:15 PM, except for Mondays, this zoo also has a Zoological Garden, a Botanical Garden, an Art Museum, and a Natural History Museum located nearby.
