The Memorial Hall is more of a War museum that celebrates the Communist’s victory over Kuomintang in January 1949. One of the four main battles fought between the two sides which wiped out about 520,000 troops from Kuomintang. The museum comprises of three main halls namely Prelude, War history and Special subjects which takes us through the entire history from before the War to after by the help of vivid paintings and films. The sculptures of generals and soldiers in action is one of the best in here. The details in their movements, the rage in the faces of the soldiers and the commanding posture of the General along with the canons is simply brilliant. Along with them there are exhibitions of real tanks, cannons and armoured cars that were leftover from the war. The Beiping-Tianjin Campaign was one of the most intense situations in the history of China and the museum manages to capture and retain its intensity through its well preserved artefacts.
