If you are newlywed and planning to enjoy your honeymoon in a serene and romantic location, you can certainly plan a trip to the Honeymoon Island State Park. Though the park used to be known as Hog Island, since the year 1939, the name of the spot turned into Honeymoon Island as 50 bungalows got established here especially to accommodate the honeymooners. Mangrove swamps, sandy beaches, and tidal surfaces make the place look cool and soothing. You along with your partner can enjoy a lot of recreational activities here such as snorkelling, swimming, fishing, and Shelling. The park has a snack bar and gift shop attached which you can visit to have a good time.

  • Love love love this place! It is beautiful! The location is great. Fishing seems great. A little scary seeing fisherman catch hammer head sharks right next to me while I'm swimming but from what I know and have experienced they don't really bother people. Water is pretty and clear❤

  • The closest you're gonna get to paradise without being in the Bahamas. Gorgeous white sand with tons beautiful shells (definitely bring an extra bag). Lots of sea life swimming around. Clear water and sand bars you can swim out to. You can go so far out and still be in thigh deep water. Only $8 for parking. Absolutely stunning!

  • Honeymoon Island was on our bucket list and it was such a nice place to visit. There are a variety of options as where you want to park your towel based on your needs and likes. One side is for pets, one is closer to a large bath house, one has a cafe, one is sandy and one is shelly which is great for shell collecting. It's truly a beautiful place to visit. Bring a hammock if you decide to pull up your car and park under the palm trees. :)

  • We walked north past the halfway point. Loved the natural beauty of it all. The was a bit of grass/ seaweed in the water. There were tons of shells. I highly recommend it, take shoes. Depending on n the tide, you might be walking on rocky or woody areas. Enjoy!

  • One of the most visited State Parks in Florida. Nice beaches, picnic area, nature trail. Changing houses. Cafe. This is a very natural park as opposed to the touristy Clearwater Beach. Some of the front gate personnel need to be reminded that the people they are collecting entry fees from are the reason they have a job. Smile and greet people without a scowl. Overall...a great natural park. The people beach is a bit rocky when you get out into the water. The sand is much nicer at the dog beach.
