Church Hill is a massive manor that was constructed in 1848 by Reverend Horatio Thompson and has in fact been used as Stonewall Jackson's home in various scenes of the movie “Gods and Generals”. Since the time the Church was built, Church Hill has been a private residence for six generations of Thompson family and visits here are only by reservations. The home has been listed in the National Registry of Historic Places and Virginia Historic Landmarks Registry. This piece of land has a lot of history associated with it and over the years several people have visited the house to get an insight into the history of the house and admire it.
