Imagine a palace of art, much below the living ground, prepared to save the day in the worst catastrophe of all time, a nuclear attack that is what the astounding Bunk Art Museum in Albania is. Constructed by the communist government in 1978, this museum has housed some of the most important people of the past like the communist exdictator Enver Hoxha. The purpose of this building at that time being to protect these famous personalities from a nuclear attack. Now completely reformed and rejuvenated, the underground building has been transformed into a splendid museum. The unique building showcases the journey of Albania through 45 years of communism.

Bunk'art Reviews & Ratings
Really interesting place to be if you want to have an insight of what the bunker used to look like and a history timeline of what happened in Albania. Truly an interesting concept of turning the bunker to an exhibition. Although I have to admit it was scary at some points, due to it being a bunker but also to the loud noises that would pop up randomly in some of the rooms. So if you are someone who feel uncomfortable in close spaces and loudness, this might not be something for you. Other than that, I do recommend it because of its uniqueness!
First, just interesting as a historical artefact. Seeing a legit bunker was super interesting. Most of the museum (despite the name) is more of a historical museum. Less art than you would think, but what's there is well done.
Old and huge underground bunker turned into an exhibit. Rooms range from visual displays to interactive simulations. Definitely worth the small entry fee. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not something that you can see just anywhere so should be a priority if visiting Tirana.
If you want to know more about communism and visit an amazing bunker this is the place to be. You literally walk into history. Some of the rooms inside are still exactly as they used to be in the old days. All the rooms together show the dark history of communism and how the Albanian people were fighting it. Things are in English, so you can read and understand everything. This place is overwhelming and absolutely worth visiting!
Interesting visit and a great escape from the midday heat. No coffee shop open on the premises but there's a place right at the entrance (tunnel).
