About Venkateswara Temple, Tirupati

When the question comes about the holiest city in India, Tirupati tops the list. And this beautiful city is simply unimaginable without the existence of the famous Tirumala Temple (Sri VenkateswaraSwamyVaari Temple). Stand majestically at the peak of Tirumala Hills, this stunning temple sheerly decors the skyline of the city.

The popularity of this temple is not only because of its rich religious heritage. Its awe inspiring Dravidian style architecture is also responsible in attracting visitors throughout the year. Till date, it has been estimated that nearly 30-40millions pilgrims visit this temple every year to get darshan (visit) of the famous idol of Lord Venkateswara (incarnation of Lord Vishnu). And the best part of this religious place is they still follow the 11th – 12th century old traditional rituals that was mentioned by the respected saint Ramanujacharya. If you reach there around 3am in the morning, you can hear Suprabhatam (the morning prayers) that is sung to awaken the Lord.

Hence, a trip to Tirupati will be incomplete unless you pay a visit to this religious site.

  • What to say about this place ? It's one of most popular tourist spots and one busiest place to see all types of people. Place is well maintained and well cleaned. Free rooms are available but first come first served. Climate is always cool and there is no need of Ac for couples they are not giving any rooms unless you are married and you have proof for it. It's better to be first always to reach room. Water is free and bathrooms are available too.

  • Absolute divinity in this temple. The discipline maintained and the preparedness with which they conduct any event definitely must be witnessed by everyone to learn from. The volunteers need a special mention for their tireless work.

  • No pictures, as cameras and phones are not allowed in the temple. Leave smart watches behind as well. Expect pilgrims pushing their way to the gold temple...interesting to experience, more so for devotees.

  • Divine place for worship.... Too much crowd try the weekdays u might be lucky. I suggest you should climb up the temple hill at least once...
