Located just about 1 kilometer away from the Tobermory city center, Fathom Five National Marine Park is a must-visit place near the harbor village. Established in 1987 and encompassing an area of over 110 square kilometers, this marine park strives to protect the natural freshwater ecosystems and display the shipwrecks and lighthouses. Thanks to the shipwrecks, Fathom Five National Marine Park is also popular amongst scuba divers. If you do not wish to dive into the water, you may take a glass bottom boat tour that leaves from Tobermory regularly. Apart from the shipwreck sites, the park also has the Dunks Point, Big Tub Lighthouse Point, and The Anchor that make for some fascinating points of interest to visit. The marine park is also home to many islands, namely Flowerpot Island, where you may go hiking along the trails or enjoy camping at its facilities.
