Sweepstakes Ship Wreckage is a hauntingly beautiful site and one of the prime reasons to attract plenty of tourists to Tobermory. Lying just 20 feet below the crystal clear water of the Ontario Lake, this is a 19th-century boat that sank in 1885. Shimmering under clear waters of the Ontario Lake, this ship wreckage boasts to be one of the best-preserved schooners that were ever discovered. The Sweepstake was once towed to the head of the Big Tub harbour for repairs, but it was determined to be beyond repair. So, it was left back in the waters at Fathom Five National Marine Park for the divers and tourists to explore.
