Kukuna, Tokyo Reviews
We booked the Kukuna suite. The private onsen balcony was incredible. We arrived on a cloudy day and were lucky to get a small 10 minute view of Fujisan. It was an incredible sight to see. The provided dinner was great but small by North American standards. We were allowed to eat at the buffet after the set menu was finished. English is very limited so don't expect questions or requests to be responded to with any assuredness. My fiancée and I would definitely come back in the future and hopefully next time we will arrive on a sunny day
Amazing view of Mt Fuji from our room. The service was excellent and it was walking distance to most of the tourist attraction spots. Best bit is if you’re not a fan of walking... there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel with the same name as the hotel!
Great Fuji views from rooms and rooftop onsen. Free shuttles run every 30 minutes to the main train station. Breakfast was amazing!
To soak at the rooftop outdoor onsen with an amazing view of Mount Fuji is an amazing experience. Highly recommended Kukuna when visiting Lake Kawaguchiko.
I would probably give it 4 or 5 stars if we didnt stay at Kozantei Ubuya the night before (we changed to Kukuna since there was no room available at Ubuya for the second night). Pro: Great view of Mt Fuji (but you can have a larger room with better view at Ubuya for the same prize) Private bathing room facing Mt Fuji (they wont tell you about the private bathing room. you need to go to 5th floor and make reservation) Staff were friendly and helped us book bus tickets. Con: Weird taste of design and decoration of the hotel. Feel more like a night club style than Japanese style. Wifi doesnt work from time to time. On the paper they stated something like "we cant guarantee wifi always work"... More rooms and guests which means public bath is more crowded than that of Ubuya.
