  • Location is fabulous. I for one am not a fan of modern art. Probably because I don't get it. The locality is great. They have a utterly ridiculous museum shop but a nice coffee shop. Staff is polite. Go on a "free" Sunday.

  • Had a few days to spend in Tokyo and this was definitely one of the highlights. It was quiet which was very nice after all the tourist crowded locations. Also nice to feel like you're learning about the culture and history rather than purely taking photos of shrines and temples. Recommend an afternoon here.

  • An interesting museum about Japan's modern art. They have a wide range of collections across different styles. The museum offers free admission twice a month so it's great to explore.

  • It's free every first Sunday every month. So I went here to try. It has 4 floors & you started from the top to bottom. You'll see from classic into something more progressive / modern. It's very well maintained & coordinated, it has the right atmosphere to enjoy the art. I highly recommend you to try visiting this museum.

  • The museum collection is quite poor in terms of number of art crafts and number of artists. You'll discover that in the 20th century Japanese artists tried to mock western style art... With poor results (in my humble and non expert opinion). I've been to other 'MOMA" and the experience was much better.
