  • If I only have one day (not overnight) to see Toledo, what do you recommend seeing? Also, how long would it take to walk from Puerta de Bisagea to Mirador del Valle?

    Answer Report Abuse
    • With only a day in hand, you can visit -

      1. Santa Iglesia Catedral Primada de Toledo
      2. Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes
      3. Mirador del Valle
      4. El Greco Museum
      5. Alcázar de Toledo

I think it would take a little more than half an hour if you walk from Puerta de Bisagea to Mirador del Valle.

  • Is it better to take the ALSA or AVANT bus from Madrid to Toledo or the train & where do I catch the bus in Madrid? Is bus and train station same place? Where do I buy tickets in the Madrid train station? Would you recommend I buy same day?

    Answer Report Abuse
    • I would suggest taking a train as it takes hardly half an hour to cover the distance. You can catch the train from Madrid's Puerta de Atocha train station and it is recommended to book a ticket around a week in advance.

  • Hello! What is the best way to get from the Toledo Train Station to the city and back again the same day to take the trip back to Madrid? Cost, timeframes, etc. Thank you!!

    Answer Report Abuse
    • Buses with numbers 5, 5D, 51, 61, and 62 are available right outside the Toledo Train Station and take you to the stop Plaza de Zocodover which is the city center and the last stop of the bus. You can take return buses too from this Plaza via buses 5 and 61 and 62. Alternatively, you can consider taking the direct bus from the Plaza at Toledo to Madrid using buses ALSA, or AVANT. The buses have great frequency and run almost every 15 to 20 mins. The approximate fare for the same is €1.40 for one way.
