Embracing the habitat of Utah, the Red Hills Desert Garden is designed to resemble a canyon area by using natural outcrops of red sandstone and merging them with artificially made water bodies and ethnic species of plants. The pathways are constructed around the sandstone rocks and there is also a hiking trail that meanders around the park leading to small caves and hills that have scenic views. An artificial waterfall is a refreshing addition to the terrain and is a cooling touch to the place.
The Cactus section of the garden is a highlight along with multiple sections that preserve and maintain endangered species of plants like Agaves. The water conservation methods used here allows the garden to grow these plants with minimal use.
The best part about the garden is the replica of the Slots Canyon complete with overhead archways! The garden also has an artificially made, 1150 feet long canal or fish stream that is home to rare species of fishes like Desert Sucker, Spinedace, Woundfin, Speckled Dace, Flannelmouht Sucker and the Virgin River Chub. However, the coolest part about the garden are the Dinosaur tracks! There are enough shaded places around to have a small picnic as well where you can unwind with some good food after exploring the garden.
