About Elgin And Winter Garden Theatres, Toronto
Once Upon a Time Peter is used to be stacked up on each other instead of standing side-by-side like normal theaters. For example this Edwardian theater has Elgin Theatre on the ground floor and the Winter Garden Theatre going up for 7 floors above that. Never meant to cater to audiences for vaudeville and short silent movies. Both theaters are incredibly ornamented on the inside with watercolors, plaster cherubs, gold filigree, hanging lanterns and dried beech leaves. The theatre is one of the hosts to the Toronto International Film Festival. Check the Theatre website for upcoming events.

Elgin And Winter Garden Theatres, Toronto Reviews
Excellent experience from the time we walked in. Theatre performance of Grease was superb and the staff at the theatre we're very helpful in many ways, several even going out of their way to try to find a lost glove. The theatre, in itself, is beautiful. Would definitely recommend the show and the theatre. Would not hesitate to come back. P.S. On checking back a week after I had been to the theatre I was pleased to learn that the lost glove had been found and saved. I now have it back! Now, that's good customer service! I had not even left my contact info, incase the lost was found. I was ever so pleased to have my good glove back!
Beautiful old theatre with lots of charm! We went and saw Grease which was a wonderful production. Even though we were at the very top of the balcony, you could still see and hear everything. I really don't think there is a bad seat in the theatre.
We saw Michael McIntyre at the Winter Garden theatre and even though our tickets were at the very top row we were still able to clearly see and hear the performance. While climbing to our seats it felt like the stairs would never end. It is a historic beautiful theatre that has been wonderfully restored.
The most beautiful theatre in the city. I've seen a few shows here in the last year and I am always delighted by how beautiful this theatre is. While it is not the largest theatre, it is a very decent size. Accoustics are always good. And while I have not sat in every seat, I have had a chance to see productions from the three different seating areas, and they are all very comfortable and have great sight lines. But like I said before, this theatre must be seen to fully understand how beautiful it is.
Wicked! Saw the grease musical here in January at the winter garden room. So beautiful in the theatre and the room. Really big! Wouldn't recommend sitting too close to the stage as the seats were a little low and if your short like me you can't see the actors feet.
