Elgin And Winter Garden Theatres - Review
Once Upon a Time Peter is used to be stacked up on each other instead of standing side-by-side like normal theaters. For example this Edwardian theater has Elgin Theatre on the ground floor and the Winter Garden Theatre going up for 7 floors above that. Never meant to cater to audiences for vaudeville and short silent movies. Both theaters are incredibly ornamented on the inside with watercolors, plaster cherubs, gold filigree, hanging lanterns and dried beech leaves. The theatre is one of the hosts to the Toronto International Film Festival. Check the Theatre website for upcoming events.

Elgin And Winter Garden Theatres, Toronto Reviews
Small stage and seating area but the building itself is so beautiful. Seats are a little old but comfy enough for 2.5 hours. The staff are great, accommodating and helpful. I bought tickets for the 130pm showing of Grease and I thought it was for 730pm! So I missed the show but the older gentleman at the box office was very helpful in exchanging my seats that were actually a better view than what I originally paid for. I bought tickets for the right balcony area but I got lucky with orchestra level seats. It was an amazing show and I will be back to watch another performance there in the future.
Recently visited this theatre to see "Grease". The show was great. This was our first visit to this theatre, and the staff were very helpful in locating our seats. The seats were not fantastic. I purchased the tickets online and wish there was mention of the 'obstructed view'. There was railing directly in front of me making it difficult to see/enjoy the show. Also, the seating is not steep like some other local theatres...therefore the person in front of you might also obstruct your view.
This was my 1st experience at Elgin Theater . We brought our in-laws there from Japan to watch Grease . ( they loved the theater ) I would recommend you to go check out the place for what ever show you are looking for . ALL the seats have great views . I was surprised by that . The balcony also looks great and over all the seating area is really not that big So wether your on a tight budget or you prefer to pay for the closest and best seats the Elgin and Winter is a great venue. The staff are very friendly , helpful and professional . As for parking .. We booked with Ticketmaster 4 TICKETS and parking at the lot on Queen St . The email came for the tickets to the show perfectly , however the voucher for parking was a huge hassle. No voucher came so we ended up having to pay an additional $22.00 for parking . The lot is called INDIGO . They were very unorganized and the Staff was refusing to let us park there in spite of showing our email and tickets to the show . Overall it was a great experience at the Theater and Ticketmaster did reimburse us for the parking .
Loved seeing Grease but also loved the theatre. Such a great atmosphere. Seats weren't entirely comfortable but still really good. Loved the staff too. Very nice
This is a great theatre! The architecture inside is absolutely beautiful. No matter where you sit you always get a good view of the stage. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I recommend it.
