This old Toronto neighborhood transformed from a bohemian center in the 1960s to one of the city’s most affluent and upscale dining, shopping, hotel and residential districts. The Mink Mile is especially prestigious for all this things, and is thought to be the 22nd most expensive street in the world, with brands like Burberry, Prada, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Holt Renfrew, Tiffany & Co., Calvin Klein, Lacoste, Ferrari, Maserati, Montblanc, and Swarovski among its hosts. But you don’t have to have deep pockets to enjoy the neighborhood. Nearby are the Royal Ontario Museum, the Toronto Reference Library - cheap visits. The parks are free - Village of Yorkville Park, Frank Stollery Parkette, Jesse Ketchum Park and Town Hall Square. And finally, you don’t have to buy anything at the upscale art galleries to be able to check them out.
