This Moorish villa contains the collections of Georges Labit, an amateur antiques enthusiasts who went around the world looking for remnants of lost civilisations. Most of the collections here are arts and artefacts from Japan, China, Southeast Asia, India, Tibet, Nepal and Egypt. The library here is rich in books geographically and thematically organised around Egyptian art – the books themselves are exhibits beautiful enough to worth having a museum to host them in. This curiosity for the orient extends to the grounds too, where an exotic garden of Asian and Mediterranean plants has been laid out. The quality and style of the exhibits are impeccable.

  • The unfriendly staff made us feel most unwelcome and uncomfortable as they followed us around. The fact that we were with children made it worse especially when they made remarks about them.

  • Amazed at the collection from various Asian countries invluding Egyp, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Vietnam, China and Japan. The Egyptian Mummy is well preseved. Was so surprised to find an ancient sculpture from Indian Temples of Khajuraho!!!!Staff were informative and helpful. Do recommend a visit!!!!

  • Quite small, I visited the place during 30min and that was enough for me. The location is nice. The collection itself is kind of complete but I think you need to be an connoisseur to really enjoy what's there. It's not my kind of museum but that's my personal opinion.

  • Beautiful little museum, a good atmosphere. Would have loved it to be bigger.

  • The 2nd best museum in Toulouse. NOT to miss. Mesmerizing architecture and beautiful garden in the background. Alongside amazing items from Japan and China and an actual MOMMY from Egypt. Best to visit on a sunny day cause you go straight out to the gorgeous Canal du Midi and the Port Saint Sauveur.
