It is the oldest structure in the complex of Walderdorff Palace and is counted as one of the most important medieval structures in Trier. Jerusalem Curia, a Cathedral canon resided here but that was later torn down. The name ‘Jerusalem’ had been used from the High Middle Ages, though the meaning stayed unknown. It was constructed in 11th century and was one of the nine towers with written evidences in Trier.
