Canale Grande is a canal situated in the city center of Trieste. It is located midway between the railway station and the city center. A number of interesting buildings and attractions face the Canal. Some of them include Palazzo Gopcevich, with its peculiar white and red plaster and the church of St. Anthony Thaumaturge. The canal adds oodles of charm and personality to the city of Trieste. It makes for a good place to stop and observe local life and have a cup of coffee.

Canale Grande Reviews & Ratings
Great area with resturants and bars along a cozy canal. Good area to walk about and maybe grab something to eat our a few drinks. Also works great as a referance point when touring Trieste city
The canal itself isn't that impressive, but we ended up here while there was some sort of street market. It was my only day here, so it could be happening all the time. But the food was good, and there was a lot to wander around and see.
Nothing really impressive but it is a nice place to pass and check it out and enjoy a walk in the surrounding area.
Good place, good food, fair prices but the bathroom is pretty weak
Ponte Rosso is like the little Venice in Triëste. Lively place where you can really taste the Italian atmosphere.
